YEG Boss Babes
On Saturday, July 22 we had the pleasure of spending the afternoon at Edmonton’s Dog Boutique, Fox & Tux. Naomi, the store owner, invited us to participate in a store event called YEG Boss Babes, that featured female entrepreneurs who own and operate pet businesses. Naomi is a huge supporter of local business and thought it would be great for her customers to have the opportunity to meet and get to know a few of us.
Naomi opened Fox & Tux just over a year ago and it’s a huge success! It’s crazy to think that in this short period of time her store has become such a huge household name. The store is inviting and easy to navigate, and Naomi and her staff are beyond inviting and knowledgeable. Staff are even allowed to bring their pets to work — dogs, cats, and bunnies are often in the store to help greet customers.
Teann owns and operates Mutt Love Photography. She has a talent for picking the perfect location for each photo sessions she shoots. She doesn’t just photograph dogs, she has a love of horses and will photograph any furry family member. Her charismatic personality puts all of her subjects at ease and makes photo sessions fun. The quality of her work is a clear reference of her passion and experience!
Lauren of Dog Dog Goose is really a master of her craft. She prides herself on the quality, functionality, and aesthetics of her collars and leashes, which is why she offers a lifetime guarantee on the hardware of her products. Her creativity shines through her spunky style — we loved her Dalmatian clothing. When Lauren isn’t filling orders or thinking up innovative styles and exciting new products, she’s hanging out with her adorable pups, Luci and Toro.
It was a delight and absolutely inspiring for Steph and I to spend an afternoon chatting with these women about themselves, their businesses, and their future plans. Thank you to the YEG community for being so supportive as well!
