Paw-some Life Lessons from our Pups!

Edmonton

Being a pet parent is no easy task. There are a lot of responsibilities that come with having a pet, and we all know that life can get pretty crazy. It can be difficult to slow down and take a moment to appreciate all of the things that our dogs can teach us. From simple reminders like “drink more water”, to more ubiquitous life lessons like “live in the moment”, our fur-babies embody them all. Here are a few of our favourite life lessons from our pups!

1. Live in The Moment

Dogs love life! They don’t worry about what’s behind them (unless the thing in question is a ball or a squirrel) or about what’s to come, they simply soak up every moment. It can be difficult to not get caught up in the past or stress about the future, but there is nothing you can do to know the future for certain or to change the past. The only thing you can do is be in the moment and embrace the now. Our pups have got that spot on!

2. Move Every Day!

As a pet parent you know how much pups need their exercise. Every day is a new day for running and jumping and zooming and rolling! Our dogs show us that no matter how you move, it’s so important to do it every day. It’s great for our well-being and keeps our brains and bodies happy. And you’ve already got a movement buddy, so get outside and get a breath of fresh air with your pup!

3. Love Unconditionally

If you are looking for a true example of love without bounds, you’ve just got to look down at your fur-baby! Your pup will wag their tail and greet you with excitement whenever they see you, and you can count on them to be there for you, no matter what. Pups do not hesitate to forgive us for anything that we have done, and you can bet that they are always ready for a cuddle and a belly rub! There’s no doubt that if we all tried to show the forgiveness and love that our pups did, the world be a better place.

4. Show Gratitude

Whether your dog is presented with a high value treat or just a really good-looking stick, they will be grateful and oh so excited. We often forget to slow down and be grateful for the things we have, no matter how small they may be. Dogs make the best of everything they are given and out of every situation they are in, and we have got a lot to learn from this kind of appreciation. Take time to be grateful for where you are and what you have, and let your pup know you are thankful for them too!

These are just a few of the life lessons that we can learn through our pups. At Dog Jogs we have been very lucky to work with your pups, and we have learned so much about gratitude, love, and joy through them. We’d love to learn a little something from all of your pets, so check out our services to see what we offer.
