Employment
Join the Dog Jogs Team!
We’re hiring reliable, detail-oriented pet care professionals in Edmonton and surrounding areas.
Dog Jogger & Pet Care Provider (Part-Time)
Dog Jogs is looking for dependable, active, and compassionate pet care professionals to join our team.
This position is best suited for someone with consistent weekday availability who is looking for long-term part-time work.
A typical shift includes visiting several clients throughout Edmonton, St. Albert, Sherwood Park, and Ardrossan to provide private dog walks, dog jogs, cat visits, puppy potty breaks, and occasional house checks. Every day is a little different, and you’ll spend your shift travelling between clients while caring for pets as if they were your own.
This is not a gig-style position where you pick up shifts whenever you’re available. We build our clients’ schedules around our team’s availability, so reliability and consistency are essential.
What You’ll Do
As a Dog Jogger, you’ll work independently throughout the day while staying connected with our team through Slack and our scheduling software.
Your visits may include:
Private dog walks and dog jogs
Cat sitting visits and care for other small pets
Puppy potty breaks and enrichment visits
Feeding pets and refreshing water
Administering medication when required
Cleaning litter boxes and pet-related messes
Bringing in packages or mail when requested
Monitoring pets’ health, safety, and behaviour
Completing detailed visit reports with photos for clients
Driving between client homes throughout your shift

What to Expect
- You’ll be working alone, visiting multiple homes per day to walk dogs, jog with them, or care for cats and other small animals.
- Most staff work Monday through Friday during one of our set shift blocks: 9am–2pm, 10am–3pm, 11am–4pm, or 12pm–5pm
- We ask for a consistent weekly schedule and a commitment to one weekend a month.
- Our team communicates via Slack and stays connected throughout the day. You’ll also use our scheduling app to check in, send updates, and track your services.
- We work with many large, strong, and often reactive dogs. If you’re not comfortable handling dogs who bark, lunge, or need extra support on walks, this may not be the right fit.
